LynTec Adds Android Application for Circuit Monitoring & Control

LynTec announces its new Android-based application for the RPC power control platform, allowing users to monitor circuit status, control zones, and perform remote reboots.

LynTec, the leading provider of controllable circuit breaker panels for the A/V/L industry announces the availability of its Android based application to round out its full line of mobile solutions for the RPC power control platform.

Based on the overwhelmingly positive response to their Apple applications released in 2011, LynTec has developed an Android app for this popular platform. The app enables users to turn on or off pre-established circuit “zones”, control individual circuits, and to monitor the status of the panel.

AV, audio, video and lighting system operators appreciate the app for its ability to immediately identify tripped circuits and to perform remote hard reboots when a device becomes non-responsive (e.g. intelligent light fixtures).

The RPC, originally designed to be integrated with and controlled by any ‘master control’ platform (e.g. AMX, Crestron, Extron, ETC, Strand, etc.), now provides designers with a direct control option. Designers can use the built-in web server on the RPC control board as the gateway to preprogram the zoning with a browser, and then operate and monitor the system on their Android (or Apple) phone or tablet.

Mark Bishop, President of LynTec comments, “With our built in web server, the RPC is the easiest power panel platform to program in the industry…period. And system integration is simple with our pre-built hooks for RS-232, TCP/IP or DMX protocols.” He adds, “The App then, is the option to control the platform yourself, using contact closures or the Smart device WITHOUT an overriding control platform in place.”

The features of the app also allow for easy and simplified control of lighting circuits which can help with managing and monitoring energy savings. The company provides a short video of the app on its YouTube site at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Cf2b5zNuSg.

The product will be showcased at the upcoming PLASA 2012 event in Austin, Texas – February 22-23 and will become an integral part in all future booth demonstrations including LynTec’s show line up for InfoComm12.
