    ABOUT RACK-MOUNT PDUS

    Dependable power for every rack.

LynTec rack-mount PDUs provide a reliable foundation for powering AV and IT gear, with practical features engineered for commercial installations.

Our rack-mount power distribution units are designed for straightforward, dependable performance in any standard 19-inch equipment rack. We focus on the practical needs of the installer, with features like rotated rear outlets to accommodate bulky wall-wart power supplies and extra-long power cords for flexible placement.

Each unit combines a robust steel chassis with essential protection, including integrated MOV-based surge and spike suppression and AC line noise filtration. This delivers cleaner, safer power to sensitive electronics, providing a simple, reliable, and practical power infrastructure for mobile carts, edit suites, and permanent installs.

    WHY IT MATTERS

    Engineered for the integrator.

    01

Practical design for faster, cleaner installs.

Rear outlets are rotated to easily fit bulky ‘wall wart’ adapters without blocking adjacent receptacles. An extra-long fifteen-foot power cord provides ample reach, simplifying cable management and rack placement.
    02

    Integrated protection for sensitive equipment.

An internal Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) provides essential spike and surge suppression to protect connected gear from damaging voltage transients. Onboard capacitors also filter AC line noise for cleaner, more stable power.
    03

    Robust construction for commercial-grade reliability.

Built with a durable steel chassis and a front-mounted circuit breaker, our PDUs are engineered for the demands of commercial use. They provide a dependable power foundation you can install with confidence.
    FAQ

    Your questions, answered.

Common questions about our rack-mount power distribution units.
Do these rack-mount PDUs offer remote control or power sequencing?

Our JG series rack-mount PDUs are designed for straightforward power distribution with manual control. They feature a front-panel master switch for the rear outlets but do not include integrated power sequencing or network control capabilities. For applications requiring automated startup sequences, remote IP control, or integration with control systems, we recommend exploring our more advanced RPC, RPCR, or NPAC series of products.

How do these units fit into a system with both fixed and mobile gear?

Our portable solutions are built on the same design principles as our rack-mount and panel products. This creates system consistency for organizations that manage both permanent installations and a mobile inventory.

Using a standardized power foundation ensures predictable electrical performance and simplifies maintenance and training for technicians. It allows your team to be familiar with the same high level of protection and reliability, whether the gear is in a venue rack or on a touring truck.

How do your PDUs accommodate bulky ‘wall wart’ power adapters?

Our rack-mount PDUs are engineered with rotated rear outlets. This design orients the receptacles 90 degrees, allowing oversized ‘wall wart’ style power supplies to be plugged in side-by-side without physically blocking adjacent outlets. This practical feature simplifies rack wiring and ensures you can use every available outlet, leading to cleaner and more efficient installations.

How does a custom PD strip simplify rack wiring and installation?

A PD Series unit arrives on-site pre-assembled and pre-wired to your exact specifications. This eliminates the complex and time-consuming task of field-wiring individual outlets inside a rack, which significantly reduces on-site labor costs and minimizes the potential for wiring errors. With circuits and receptacles already labeled and the power harness cut to length, installation becomes a simple process of mounting the strip and connecting the power feed.

How does the JG Series physical design help during installation?

The JG Series is engineered with practical features for installers. Rear outlets are rotated 90 degrees, which allows bulky ‘wall wart’ style power adapters to be plugged in side-by-side without blocking adjacent sockets. This simplifies cable management and maximizes usable outlets.

Additionally, every unit includes an extra-long 15-foot power cord. This provides flexibility in rack placement and makes it easier to reach distant wall outlets without needing extension cords.

How flexible is the SRA Series for installation in different spaces?

The SRA Series is engineered for maximum installation flexibility. Each unit ships with hardware to be configured in one of three ways: mounted in a standard 19-inch equipment rack (2U), stood vertically as a freestanding tower, or mounted directly to a wall.

To simplify operation, the front-panel LCD screen can be rotated, ensuring that system status and metering are easy to read in any orientation.

What is the power cord length on your rack-mount PDUs?

All our JG series rack-mount PDUs come standard with an extra-long fifteen-foot power cord. This extended length provides significant flexibility in rack placement, allowing you to position equipment where it is needed without being constrained by the proximity of a wall outlet. It also helps simplify cable management by reducing the need for extension cords.

What level of surge protection is included in these PDUs?

Our rack-mount PDUs provide essential protection for connected equipment. They feature an internal Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) for basic spike and surge suppression against common voltage transients. Additionally, an onboard capacitor provides AC line noise filtration, delivering cleaner power to sensitive electronics. This provides a reliable layer of protection for commercial AV and IT gear in a simple, integrated package.

What mounting hardware is included for vertical rack installation?

PD Series units are designed for flexible vertical mounting. Models like the PD3 include adjustable side mounting brackets that can be moved between multiple threaded locations on the chassis. This versatility allows you to position the strip precisely within the rack to accommodate your equipment layout and cable management needs. If you have non-standard rack configurations, custom mounting hardware can also be included upon request.

What mounting options are available for different LynTec panels?

We offer a range of hardware to suit various installation environments. This includes precision-fit rack ears for standard equipment racks, robust wall-mount brackets for surface installations, and filler plates to ensure a clean and enclosed finish. Each component is designed to simplify the mounting process and provide a secure, professional result for your project.

    When should I specify a 20A PDU instead of a 15A model?

Choose a 20A model like the JG 11-20A when your rack contains equipment with a higher combined power draw that exceeds the 1,800-watt capacity of a standard 15A circuit. A 20A PDU requires a dedicated 20A branch circuit with a NEMA 5-20R receptacle. For standard applications with lower power requirements, a 15A model like the JG 11-15A is sufficient and can be plugged into any standard 15A wall outlet.

    When should I specify a wall-mount panel over a rack-mount PDU?

Specify a wall-mount panel for centralized, high-density power distribution from an electrical closet or back-of-house equipment room. They are ideal for feeding multiple racks, lighting positions, or distributed AV zones from a single source. Rack-mount PDUs are better suited for power distribution and control within a single equipment rack. The two can be used together in a scalable, integrated system.
