+Reliable rack power with clear operational insight.
Engineered for the demands of touring rigs and permanent AV installations, every RP Series PDU is built into a reinforced Tour Class steel enclosure. A front-panel digital meter provides at-a-glance monitoring of voltage or current, giving you confidence in your system’s power draw. Practical features like front and rear USB ports and generously spaced rear outlets simplify rack builds and maintenance.
The series includes models with standard MOV-based surge protection or the advanced RX Series hybrid filter, which provides superior protection against power surges and filters out EMI/RFI noise for cleaner performance.
What makes RP Series PDUs a trusted choice.
Built for the rigors of the road and the rack.
Clear visibility into power consumption.
Designed for the modern AV rack.
Your questions, answered.
The USB ports on the front and rear of RP Series units are for power only. They provide a convenient 5V DC power source for charging accessories or powering utility items like a gooseneck work light directly from the rack. They do not support data transfer.
Yes. The rear outlets on all RP Series power distribution units (PDUs) are specifically designed to accommodate bulky ‘wall wart’ style power adapters. The outlets are rotated 90 degrees and have generous spacing between them. This practical design prevents large adapters from blocking adjacent outlets, allowing you to use every available connection in your rack build.
The integrated digital meter on the front panel provides at-a-glance visibility into your rack’s power consumption. A simple push-button allows you to toggle the display between showing the system’s input voltage (Volts) or the total current draw of connected equipment (Amps). This allows you to confidently monitor and manage your power loads in real time to prevent overloads.
The RP Series offers models based on two primary factors: amperage and level of protection. You can select between 15A (NEMA 5-15P plug) and 20A (NEMA 5-20P plug) versions to match your circuit capacity.
Additionally, models are available with either standard MOV-based surge protection (e.g., RP100-15A) or our advanced RX Series hybrid filter (e.g., RP100-15RX). The RX option provides superior protection against surges and also filters out EMI/RFI noise for cleaner performance in sensitive AV systems.
The Tour Class chassis is engineered for exceptional durability in demanding environments. It is constructed from heavy-duty, reinforced cold-rolled steel to withstand the rigors of mobile touring rigs, transport, and repeated handling. This robust build quality ensures long-term reliability for both portable applications and permanent commercial AV installations where equipment must be dependable.
The RX Series option provides a significant upgrade in equipment protection. It features a hybrid filter circuit that is much more effective than standard MOV-based protection. It limits potentially damaging ground line surges to a maximum of 0.50 volts, safeguarding sensitive digital components.
In addition to surge protection, the RX circuit also includes a bi-directional filter that reduces electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI). This helps ensure cleaner power for improved audio and video performance.
