+Simple, reliable power sequencing for single racks.
Designed for smaller, standalone AV systems, the SQ Series delivers dependable 3-step power sequencing to protect sensitive electronics from the damage caused by inrush current. It is the ideal solution for applications like conference rooms, lecterns, or small venue front-of-house racks where a complex, networked control system is unnecessary.
Each SQ unit operates independently, requiring no master controller for operation. An integrated contact closure input allows for simple remote control from a basic wall switch or a third-party control system’s relay, making integration straightforward and reliable.
Engineered for straightforward protection.
Standalone sequencing without a master controller.
Simple integration with contact closure control.
Reliable, purpose-built protection.
Your questions, answered.
No, the SQ Series is engineered as a standalone sequencer for single-rack systems. Each unit operates independently and is not designed to be linked or cascaded with other SQ units.
This purposeful design keeps installation simple and reliable for its intended application. For systems requiring control over multiple racks or more than three sequenced steps, we recommend our modular RPC or PDS power control systems.
The primary function of the SQ Series is power sequencing. It is designed to protect equipment from damage caused by inrush current during startup and shutdown procedures.
It does not include integrated surge protection. For applications that require protection from voltage surges and spikes, a separate Surge Protective Device (SPD) should be installed on the circuit feeding the SQ unit.
The SQ Series is controlled via a simple contact closure input. This allows for straightforward remote activation of the power up and power down sequences.
You can trigger the unit using a basic momentary wall switch, a key switch, or a relay output from any third-party control system like Crestron, AMX, or Q-SYS. This design ensures reliable operation without needing a network connection or complex programming.
The 3-step sequencing delay on the SQ Series is preset at the factory and is not user-adjustable. This ensures consistent, reliable performance and simplifies installation.
The fixed delay is engineered to provide safe startup and shutdown intervals for the majority of professional audio and video equipment, protecting it from high inrush currents without requiring any onsite programming or configuration.
The SQ-1500 has a total load capacity of 15 amps. This is sufficient to manage the startup sequence for typical equipment found in a single AV rack, such as audio amplifiers, digital signal processors, video switchers, and source devices.
Its 3-step sequence helps manage the inrush current from this equipment, preventing nuisance breaker trips and protecting sensitive electronics during power-up.
The SQ Series is the ideal choice for simple, standalone applications where you need reliable 3-step sequencing for a single equipment rack. It is perfect for conference room credenzas, lecterns, or small front-of-house racks that do not require network access.
If your project requires network control, remote monitoring, scheduling, or sequencing for multiple racks or zones, you should specify a networked solution from our RPC, RPCR, or PDS series panels. These provide a more robust, scalable infrastructure for larger systems.
