Yes. The SPD series is designed as a stand-alone module, making it simple to retrofit into existing installations. The primary function of the SQ Series is power sequencing. It is designed to protect equipment from damage caused by inrush current during startup and shutdown procedures.
It does not include integrated surge protection. For applications that require protection from voltage surges and spikes, a separate Surge Protective Device (SPD) should be installed on the circuit feeding the SQ unit.
Selecting the correct SPD depends on your system’s electrical service, including the voltage and phase configuration (e.g., 120V single-phase, 208V three-phase). It is critical to match the SPD’s specifications to the panel it will protect.
