    FAQ

FAQs about the SCV Series UPS

Can I replace the batteries myself without shutting down my equipment?

Yes. All SCV Series models feature hot-swappable, user-replaceable batteries. You can safely replace the battery module while the UPS continues to power your connected devices, ensuring zero downtime for maintenance.

How do I choose the right VA or Watt rating for my rack?

Add up the total wattage of all equipment you need to protect. Choose an SCV model with a Watt rating that is at least 20-30% higher than your total load to ensure reliable performance and allow for future expansion.

How long will the UPS power my equipment during an outage?

Runtime depends on the specific model and the amount of connected load. For example, the SCV-15001 provides approximately 3 minutes of runtime at a full 1350W load, or 10 minutes at a half load. Check the datasheet for detailed runtime charts.

    What does on-line, double-conversion mean?

It is the highest level of UPS protection. The UPS continuously converts incoming AC power to DC, then back to perfect AC power. This completely isolates your equipment from all power problems on the utility line, providing clean, stable, and uninterrupted power.

What is the optional SNMP network card used for?

The SCV-SNMP card adds an Ethernet port to the UPS. This allows you to monitor status, receive alerts, and manage the UPS remotely over your network using standard network management software, enhancing system visibility and control.
