No, the CQ 1 is a plug-and-play device that does not require a separate primary controller or any programming. It can operate as a standalone unit or as part of a larger, self-contained CQ system.
You can link multiple CQ units using standard eight-wire RJ-45 network cables. Each unit has an ‘Input’ and ‘Output’ port to create a simple daisy-chain for system-wide sequencing.
The CQ 1 can be controlled in two ways. It can be triggered by a simple remote contact closure from a keyswitch or relay, or it can be daisy-chained with other CQ Series sequencers and follow their sequence commands.
The CQ 1 is designed to provide sequenced power to distributed AV equipment, such as powered speakers, projectors, or displays, in locations without a traditional equipment rack. It installs directly into a wall, ceiling, or floor box.
The CQ 1 is designed to fit into a standard three-gang electrical box. Two gangs are for the device itself, and the third provides space for power line connections. A plastic three-gang enclosure is included for convenience.
