    POWER SEQUENCING

Simple, reliable power sequencing for any rack.

The CQ 1520 simplifies power management for any installation that requires controlled system startup and shutdown. This 1U rack-mount unit provides 20A service across three sequenced power pods, protecting connected equipment from inrush current damage. Engineered for standalone operation, it requires no external controller, making it an ideal plug-and-play solution for front-of-house applications, small venues, and conference rooms.

For larger systems, multiple CQ units can be easily linked using standard RJ-45 or RJ-12 cables to create a scalable primary and secondary sequencing architecture. Integrated surge and spike protection on all outlets ensures connected equipment is safe, while front-panel LEDs provide clear status on sequence operation and protection health.

    Other CQ Series Sequencers

Link with other CQ models in a primary/secondary configuration for synchronized, multi-zone sequencing.

    RCDM Remote Control Combiners

Control a single CQ sequencer or system from up to three separate locations with a simple plug-and-play module.

    Emergency System Integration

Connect to an emergency alarm trigger via the RCDM1 module to automatically force a system sequence down.
    CONFIGURATION OPTIONS

    Configure your sequencing system.

The CQ 1520 offers simple, hardware-based options for system design and operation.
    System Architecture

The CQ 1520 can be deployed in two primary roles depending on your system’s scale:

    • Standalone Unit: Use a single CQ 1520 for simple, localized sequencing in a single rack or console. No other hardware is required.
    • Primary/Secondary System: Link multiple CQ units using standard network cables. The first unit in the chain acts as the primary, triggering all connected secondary units in a synchronized sequence.
    Sequence Timing

Adjust the delay between each of the three sequence steps to match your equipment’s startup requirements:

    • 2 Seconds (Default): Standard timing suitable for most general-purpose audio and video equipment.
    • 10, 20, or 30 Seconds: Longer delays for equipment with extended boot times, such as projectors or DSPs, preventing overlap. Timing is set via internal DIP switches.
    Remote Control Options

Add remote operation to a CQ system with simple, reliable hardwired controllers:

    • RC5 Series Remotes: Add wall or rack-mounted key switches, push buttons, or rotary switches for convenient remote operation when security is a consideration.
    • RCDM Combiners: Allow a CQ system to be controlled from up to three separate locations, or integrate with an emergency alarm system for automated shutdown.

    FAQ

    FAQs about the CQ 1520

Can I adjust the time delay between sequence steps?

Yes, the delay time is adjustable via two DIP switches on the main circuit board. Options are 2 seconds (default), 10 seconds, 20 seconds, and 30 seconds to accommodate various equipment startup times.

Does the CQ 1520 require a network connection to operate?

No, the CQ 1520 is a standalone analog sequencer and does not have any IP or network capabilities. It operates independently or can be linked to other CQ devices via low-voltage wiring.

How do I know if the surge protection has failed?

The front panel Processor LED will blink red if the internal surge protection has failed. During normal operation with healthy protection, the LED will flash blue and red. Contact LynTec support for replacement instructions.

How do I link multiple CQ units together?

Multiple CQ units can be daisy-chained using standard eight-wire RJ-45 or six-wire RJ-12 cables. Connect the Signal Output of the primary unit to the Signal Input of the next unit in the sequence.

What kind of outlet does the NEMA 5-20P plug require?

The NEMA 5-20P plug on the CQ 1520 requires a 20-amp rated NEMA 5-20R electrical receptacle. This type of receptacle has one T-shaped slot and is common in commercial installations.
